TA candidate debates come to Queens this week, while Time’s Up! volunteers will work to calm traffic and clean up trash in city parks.  

• Tuesday: Auto-Free New York does a walking tour of the new car-free Broadway, Herald Square and Times Square. 6 p.m.
• Tuesday: The second in Transportation Alternatives’ series of City Council district debates happens in Jackson Heights, featuring a slate of candidates in Helen Sears’ 25th District. 7 p.m.
• Thursday: TA Brooklyn Committee Meeting. After several years of reduced activity, the Brooklyn Committee of
  Transportation Alternatives has been re-energized, more than doubling
  its membership and diving into issues big and small to create a safer
  environment for all street users. 7 p.m.
• 
  Friday: Time’s Up! Central Park Traffic Calming Ride. This is a non-confrontational ride to slow down car traffic during the hours the park is open to cars. Cyclists roll side by side around the park’s loop roads. 6 p.m.
• 
  Saturday: Time’s Up! and Neighbors Allied for Good Growth will explore the history, pollution and health of Newtown Creek via bike. Learn about the area’s industrial heritage, oil spills and pollution plumes, combined sewage overflows, and the ecosystem of estuaries. 4 p.m
• Sunday:
  Join Time’s Up! for a 25-mile one-way ride to help preserve NYC’s biggest park — Pelham Bay. Local environmental groups to clear out trash and invasive species. 9 a.m.
