This Week: The Dangers of 57th Street
With the holidays approaching, the calendar items are stacked toward the early part of the week. Looks like this is the final burst of community board action before 2015 — get it while you can.
Here are the highlights, with more goodies on the full calendar:
- Today: The Baruch College plaza is a car-free block of East 25th Street created with temporary materials. NYC DOT, the Department of Design and Construction, and Baruch College are putting on a public workshop as to inform a permanent redesign. 6 p.m.
- Tuesday: The transportation committee of Queens Community Board 5 will meet to discuss street safety, freight rail, and transit issues, as well as the state DOT’s mammoth Kosciuszko Bridge replacement project. 7 p.m.
- Wednesday: On the agenda of Manhattan Community Board 4’s transportation committee: DOT’s report on dangerous intersections along 57th Street on the West Side. 6:30 p.m.
