Events started trickling onto the Streetsblog calendar last week. Now that we’re past Labor Day, that trickle has turned into a gusher, providing a full slate of events to sate your appetite.

On Thursday, be sure to join Streetsblog for ARTCRANK at Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg. ARTCRANK is a celebration of bike culture featuring hand-made, bike-inspired posters created by New York area artists, not to mention food and drink. Limited edition, signed copied of all posters will be available for sale. Admission is free and Streetsblog will be raffling off accessories from Timbuk2 and Shinola, so come show your support.

• Today: After two deadly crashes in which left-turning drivers struck pedestrians in West End Avenue crosswalks, DOT drew up a 35-block road diet featuring concrete pedestrian islands. Tonight, Manhattan Community Board 7 is set to vote in support of the project, which is scheduled to be complete by the end of next month. 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday: The City Council transportation committee will consider a bill establishing civil penalties for leaving the scene of a crash without reporting it to the police. 10 a.m.
• Also Tuesday: DOT is hosting an information session in Queens for people and organizations interested in applying to the neighborhood plaza program. 10 a.m.
• Wednesday: Brooklyn Community Board 7’s Vision Zero task force is meeting to focus on improving safety on Third Avenue and on Caton Avenue. 6:30 p.m.
• Thursday: The Manhattan Community Board 2 transportation committee will consider whether to ask DOT to study complete street treatments on Seventh Avenue South, including protected bike lanes and pedestrian islands. 6:30 p.m.
• Also Thursday: DOT will present pedestrian safety improvements for Court Square at Queens Community Board 2’s general board meeting. 7 p.m.

Finally, a heads up for an event next Wednesday: Streetsblog and the New York Transit Museum are hosting a roundtable discussion on Bus Rapid Transit in New York City. Streetsblog Editor-in-Chief Ben Fried will moderate a panel featuring Joan Byron of the Pratt Center for Community Development, Eric Beaton of NYC DOT, and Robert Thompson of New York City Transit.
