We’ve got a potent mix of high-impact and fun events on the Streetsblog calendar this week. Of special note to our readers: Thanks to our friends at Bicycle Habitat, Thursday’s ARTCRANK party will benefit Streetsblog and Streetfilms. Details below…

• Wednesday: NYC DOT has made huge improvements in street safety on Broadway and the East and West Sides of Manhattan by reallocating space from motor traffic to pedestrians and cyclists. Will the spine of Midtown also be transformed into a safer place for everybody? Transportation Alternatives is launching a campaign to turn Fifth and Sixth Avenues into complete streets, and they want your ideas to help jumpstart the effort at this kick-off meeting. 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday: ARTCRANK, the roving, multi-city party that melds bicycling and art, will be throwing down at Bicycle Habitat’s Soho shop in its first-ever NYC show. On sale will be 25 bicycle-inspired works of poster art, and on tap will be Widmer Brothers beer. They’ll also be raffling off a new Globe Roll 8 bicycle. Proceeds from the raffle, the bar, and sales of the bike poster by Big Table Studios will benefit Streetsblog and Streetfilms. Thanks to ARTCRANK, Bike Habitat, Neenah Paper, Widmer Brothers, and all the artists for putting together a great event. The good times start at 5:00 p.m., and admission is free. RSVP and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card from Bicycle Habitat.
• Saturday: Summer Streets, Part 2. From five days away, the forecast is looking perfect for car-free festivities on Park Avenue. Sunny, with a high of 82 degrees. 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
