I would like to extend a big virtual bear hug to everyone who donated to Streetsblog and Streetfilms during our spring pledge drive. Thanks to your support, we exceeded our goal and raised more than $31,000. That goes a long way and will fund a lot of reporting and videomaking in support of safer, more livable streets.

I’d also like to thank our sponsors for donating the fantastic prizes that several lucky contributors are taking home.

Our grand prize, a new Schwinn Jenny 7 courtesy of Ride Brooklyn, goes to reader Danylo Rakowsky of Brooklyn Heights. Dan is an Iraq War vet who will be picking up the Jenny for his bride-to-be, Christine. They’re getting married later this month, believe it or not. (No, we did not do biographical interviews before selecting a winner — this was totally random, people.)
