The theme this year is “Innovation and the Global City” and speakers include Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy and former New York Governor Mario Cuomo.

• Tuesday: Manhattan Community Board 2 and NYU sponsor a panel discussion on how to curb speeding, including representatives from Transportation Alternatives, NYC DOT, and the Project for Public Spaces. 6:00 p.m.
• Also Tuesday: Former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist headlines a Municipal Art Society panel on repurposing New York’s largest roads, especially highways like the Sheridan Expressway. 6:30 p.m.
• Again Tuesday: The transportation committee of Manhattan CB 7 checks in on the redesign of Columbus Avenue. 7:00 p.m.
• Friday: RPA’s annual conference at the Waldorf Astoria will offer sessions on topics like managing congestion and preserving regional landscapes with experts from MTA Chairman Jay Walder to Stockholm’s environment chief Gunnar Söderholm. 8:00 a.m.
