I linked to this in the headlines this morning, but news is slow on Good Friday and it just feels right to have a rabbit at the top of Streetsblog over Easter weekend, so here goes.

This is how police in Glendale, California execute the street safety operation known as the crosswalk sting. If you fail to yield to the rabbit, you get a ticket.

@Naparstek wonders whether these officers are David Engwicht disciples. I think they might be. Because clearly, they’re sparing the drivers whose brains are attentive enough to register a mental speedbump. They’re saving their summonses for the truly oblivious motorists who don’t even stop for a giant bunny.

Anyway, I would really like to see NYPD try this out, especially at a place like the corner of Broome at Lafayette Street, where everyone’s in a huge hurry to get to the Holland Tunnel. The crosswalk violations there are non-stop.
