Conference: Delivering the Goods: The Freight Needs of a Growing Population

Imagine the New York metropolitan region with 2 million more people over the next 25 years. That translates into roughly 70 million more tons of goods to be delivered, challenging an already-constrained transportation system. This event will address the key freight issues affecting and affected by the current and forecasted population growth. Recognizing that much of the freight movement within the NYMTC region is driven by the population’s need for goods and services, this symposium will lay the foundation for the region’s decision-making on freight, while trying to provide a more coherent and consistent voice for freight in this region.
