He is also Adjunct Senior Fellow, at the United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS). His research has focused on urban environmental transitions and globalization and urban change (with a focus on the Asia Pacific), ecosystem approaches to urban and regional environmental planning, and the impacts of urbanization on the environment.
