Here’s a sampling of all the stuff happening this week on the Streetsblog Calendar. You might want to take a staycation to soak it all in.

• Tonight:
  The Five Borough Bike Club’s monthly meeting features presentations on two greenways that are in the works. Howie Mann of NYMTC will talk about the Hudson River Greenway, and Maggie Scott Greenfield of the Bronx River Alliance will discuss the Bronx River Greenway. The 5BBC invites attendees to learn about each project and give feedback. NYPD Downtown Center, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday: T.A.’s fifth annual summer benefit has a great speaker lined up for the keynote: Dr. Harold Varmus, former director of the National Institutes of Health and currently an adviser to the Obama Administration. Seats have sold out, but you can get on the waiting list and hope a spot opens up.
• Wednesday: In the morning, Charles Komanoff will present the latest version of his Balanced Transportation Analyzer.
  Come learn what the BTA can tell us about rationalizing New York City’s toll system and other skewed aspects of our transportation network. Starts at 9:00 a.m. at Sam Schwartz Engineering. Also, two noteworthy occasions for public comment: 5:00 p.m. is the deadline to tell the state DOT your thoughts on the rehab and potential widening of the BQE, and at 6:00, you can submit questions (in writing) to Forest City Ratner as they explain the latest version of their massively subsidized Atlantic Yards project. 

• Saturday: The folks behind OpenStreetMap are putting on a mapping party for pedestrians and cyclists. OpenStreetMap is a free, open source map of the planet that can be edited by anyone. At the party you’ll learn how to use a GPS and upload changes to the map. There should be some interesting things to add on Sands Street, a short walk from mapping party HQ at ReBar in DUMBO. Starts at 10:00 a.m.
