Update: After initial publication of this story, a spokeswoman for the Department of Transportation told Streetsblog: “These are not DOT’s [message] boards. We’ve spoken to the project manager here and looks like they will be reprogramming them.” Well, there goes the fun — see below for what you missed:

A tipster identifying him or herself as “Bikesy,” who may or may not be the person who has been hacking electric signboards to put cars in their proper deadly context, has sent over the latest example of rebranding driving: a highway message board on Eastern Parkway near the entrance to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (see photos below).
