After redesigning the service lanes on 2.5 miles of Queens Boulevard for safer walking and biking, this year DOT turns its attention to a third segment, between Eliot Avenue and Yellowstone Boulevard in Rego Park and Forest Hills.

On Thursday, you can weigh in on the next round of Queens Boulevard improvements at a DOT workshop. It’s important to keep advocating for safe bikeways where people can ride outside the door zone, because allocating that street space to biking will involve more parking removal than previous sections of the project.

• Today: The Manhattan Community Board 6 transportation committee will discuss cashless tolling at the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, M14 Select Bus Service, local DOT projects, and the removal of two parking spots. • Tuesday: The Brooklyn CB 3 transportation committee will discuss requests from local residents for a Classon Avenue bike lane. Drivers have killed at least two people riding bikes on Classon since 2014. 1360 Fulton St., Ste. 202, Brooklyn, 6:30 p.m.
