Tuesday is a big day for street safety projects in Brooklyn and Queens, with community board meetings about bike lanes and pedestrian improvements. On Wednesday, Manhattanites will have the opportunity to weigh in at the first of two Vision Zero workshops in the borough.

• Tuesday in Queens: At 6 p.m., DOT will present safety improvements for the intersection of Hillside and Metropolitan Avenues to Community Board 9. At 7:15 p.m., CB 14 will consider asking DOT to study a bike lane and pedestrian space on Rockaway Freeway. At 7:30 p.m., DOT will discuss the findings of a PARK Smart study in Jackson Heights with CB 3’s transportation committee.
• Tuesday in Brooklyn: At 6:30 p.m., Community Board 1 is expected to vote on a DOT proposal for five miles of bike lanes and shared lanes on Flushing Avenue between the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway and Ridgewood. At 7 p.m., DOT will discuss a proposed expansion of the bike lane network in Bay Ridge with CB 10’s transportation committee.
• Wednesday: The city’s Vision Zero workshops continue with the first of two Manhattan workshops. Wednesday’s event is in Greenwich Village. 6:30 p.m.
• Also Wednesday: DOT will present safety improvements at Saint Nicholas Place, West 155th Street, and Edgecombe Avenue to Manhattan Community Board 10’s transportation committee. 6:30 p.m.
• Thursday: Manhattan Community Board 3’s transportation committee will hear a presentation from DOT on the Tompkins Square Park Neighborhood Slow Zone. 6:30 p.m.
• Saturday: Join Riders Alliance in Bedford-Stuyvesant to organize for better C train service. 1 p.m.
