It’s a busy week on the Streetsblog calendar, including a panel discussion on NYPD’s traffic safety agenda and events to demand action after two young lives were lost to traffic violence.

• Tuesday: Transportation Alternatives and NYU’s Rudin Center are hosting a panel discussion about the traffic safety agenda for the next mayor and NYPD commissioner. The event features former police commissioner Bill Bratton, reporter Errol Louis, and Nicole Gelinas of the Manhattan Institute. 8:30 a.m.
• Also Tuesday: Fort Greene residents will commemorate Lucian Merryweather and other traffic violence victims before heading to the 88th Precinct’s community council meeting to request better traffic enforcement. 6:15 p.m.
• More Tuesday: Bike-share planning kicks off in Astoria with a presentation at Queens Community Board 1 by NYC DOT staff. 7:00 p.m.
• Even More Tuesday: A committee of Staten Island Community Board 1 will hear a presentation from Transportation Alternatives volunteers about bicycle and pedestrian safety on Richmond Terrace. 7:00 p.m.
• Wednesday: NYC DOT is hosting a community feedback session on proposed improvements for Woodhaven Boulevard, including curb extensions and median islands, improved bus service, and signal timing modifications. 6:00 p.m.
• Also Wednesday: NYC DOT will present recommendations from its Bleecker, Houston, Bowery Traffic and Transportation Study to Manhattan Community Boards 2 and 3. 6:00 p.m.
• Thursday: A community forum on traffic safety will be held in Park Slope in the wake of the deaths of two area children: Sammy Cohen-Eckstein on Prospect Park West and Lucian Merryweather in Fort Greene. 7:30 p.m.
