This Week: Downtown Brooklyn Parking Reform Public Hearing

The big item on this week’s calendar is the second public hearing on the Department of City Planning’s proposed reforms of Downtown Brooklyn’s parking minimums. After the previous public hearing, the land use committee of Community Board 2 endorsed requests from area developers to make the reductions in parking minimums retroactive, allowing developers to repurpose excess parking for more productive uses. This Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., Borough President Marty Markowitz hears testimony on the topic before issuing his own recommendations.
