This Week: Truck Routes and Delivery Zones

Hope everyone enjoyed the Presidents Day weekend. On the calendar this week: After a debate on the future of infrastructure megaprojects tonight, the action heads to Queens and Brooklyn.

  • Tonight: Top transportation builders and advocates discuss the future of large scale public works in a panel discussion at the Museum of the City of New York. 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: NYC DOT holds a public meeting on its plans to reroute truck traffic through the Maspeth neighborhood. 6:00 p.m.
  • Also Wednesday: Last month, DOT added delivery zones along Brooklyn’s Church Avenue, with the goal of easing congestion caused by double-parking and cruising. The department will update Community Board 14 on the project so far. 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: Queens Community Board 7 holds a public hearing on the location of bike racks in its neighborhoods. 7:30 p.m.
