Post: Pedestrian Injuries All in Good Fun

new030.jpgToday’s New York Post features the wacky story of a motorist from the Bronx who — get this — drove through the window of a Midtown map store. A "befuddled" Rodney Bailey "left a West 43rd Street parking garage at about 8 a.m. and made a right
turn into the front of a Hagstrom Map shop next door, smashing the
plate glass to smithereens."

On his way to the store, Bailey "clipped" two unnamed pedestrians, who were hospitalized "with injuries that police said were not critical." Bailey wasn’t charged with anything and was allowed to drive his truck from the scene an hour later.

Man, that is something. Reminds me of when my wife got "clipped" by a taxi and was admitted to the hospital with non-critical injuries. It was over six years ago, but we still get a chuckle out of the permanent nerve damage and chronic pain. The cab driver didn’t get off so easily — found himself on the business end of a $75 fine for failing to yield.

Good times.
