Last month, DOT briefed Community Board 2 on the next round of safety improvements for one of Brooklyn’s most traffic-choked public spaces: Times Plaza, at the convergence of Flatbush, Atlantic, and Fourth avenues. The board also heard a presentation for bike improvements on Jay Street in DUMBO.

The Flatbush/Atlantic/Fourth project is not the total reimagining that the area needs, but it’s a step in the right direction. On Wednesday, the full CB 2 board will vote on both projects. The city has much more to do to improve the walking and biking environment above Brooklyn’s central transit hub, and it’s important to show up on Wednesday to let CB 2 and DOT know it.

Here are this calendar week’s highlights. Check the full calendar for more info on these and other events.
