The looming L train shutdown will disrupt travel for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and demands a serious response. In Manhattan, advocates are calling for transitways on 14th Street and Delancey Street when the subway goes out of service. This week you can speak up for robust plan to keep people moving without the L train at a workshop hosted by Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, DOT, and the MTA.

Check the full calendar for more info on these and other events.

  • Wednesday: DOT brings its citywide transit planning process to Elmhurst. Elmhurst Hospital Center, 79-01 Broadway, Queens. 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: DOT and the MTA expect to release a plan for the L train shutdown this fall. In preparation, they’re holding a series of public workshops, and this is the first of two scheduled for Manhattan. Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 328 West 14th Street, Manhattan. 7 p.m.
