In addition to the city’s ongoing presentations about and demonstrations of its planned bike-share system — check out the schedule here — the big event on this week’s livable streets calendar takes place in Hell’s Kitchen, where the Department of Transportation is presenting findings and recommendations from a major five-year study. Home to major transportation facilities like the Port Authority and Lincoln Tunnel, Hell’s Kitchen has been waiting on this study for a number of important safety improvements.

• Tonight: After five years of work, DOT presents the results of its transportation study of the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Proposed changes are likely to include pedestrian safety improvements and new traffic patterns around the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel. 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday: DOT presents a final draft of the route for the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway to the Sunset Park community and asks for one more round of public comments on the plan. 6:30 p.m.
• Also Tuesday: The MTA and DOT show their plans for Nostrand Avenue Select Bus Service to Brooklyn CB 18. DOT will also discuss pedestrian safety improvements for Kings Plaza. 8:00 p.m.
• Wednesday: City official Suzanne Nienaber gives a lecture explaining how active design can create a built environment that encourages physical activity and public health. 12:00 p.m.
• Also Wednesday: Transportation Alternatives Executive Director Paul Steely White speaks at Parsons, The New School For Design, on the topic of “Designing Innovative Legislative Advocacy for Urban Transportation Networks.” 6:00 p.m.
