This Week: Streetfilms, 34th Street, Shoup
This week’s calendar action kicks off in a big way with tonight’s Streetfilms soiree, followed by a Thursday trifecta and topped off with a visit from everyone’s favorite parking pundit.
- Tonight: Celebrate Streetfilms with The Open Planning Project and special guest Veronica Moss. 6 p.m.
- There are three events on Thursday: Brooklyn Community Board 2 hosts a discussion of bicyclist and
motorist behavior on the roadways, with reps from Transportation Alternatives, AAA, NYPD,
and NYCDOT. (6 p.m.) Brooklyn CB 6 hears an update on the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. (6:30 p.m.) NYCDOT hosts a public meeting on the 34th Street corridor Alternatives Analysis. (7 p.m.) - Friday: Donald Shoup is in town to talk rational parking policies with Sandy Hornick of the NYC Dept. of City Planning. 8 a.m.
- And an early mention for next Monday: NYU is hosting a day-long symposium on U.S. transpo policy,
featuring Janette Sadik-Khan, Tim Gilchrist, Kate Slevin, and many
others. 8:30 a.m.
