This Week: Morningside Ave, Pulaski Bridge, Bed Stuy Slow Zone
Three community board meetings about street safety projects fill out the Streetsblog calendar this week. Here are the details:
- Monday: Last month, the CB 10 transportation committee didn’t field the quorum needed to vote on the city’s traffic-calming plan for Morningside Avenue. Tonight that project is back before the committee, which has seldom shown an inclination to redesign streets for greater safety. Residents who want to see this project move forward should make every effort to attend. 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: The plan to convert a motor vehicle lane of the southbound Pulaski Bridge to a two-way protected bike lane sailed through Brooklyn Community Board 1 transportation committee in December, and the full board will consider it this evening. 6:30 p.m.
- Also Tuesday: NYC DOT will show plans for a neighborhood 20 mph zone in parts of Clinton Hill and Bed Stuy at a meeting of Brooklyn CB 3’s transportation committee. 6:30 p.m.
