There are some major items on the Streeetsblog calendar this week: an important street safety forum in Park Slope, a crucial vote for the effort to bring a complete street redesign to Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side, and a City Council transportation committee hearing on NYPD’s hit-and-run investigations.

• Tuesday: Join the Park Slope Street Safety Partnership, convened by Council Member Brad Lander in response to the death of 12-year-old Park Slope resident Sammy Cohen Eckstein, to discuss how neighborhood residents can work together to make neighborhood streets safer. 6:30 p.m.
• Also Tuesday: After hearing public testimony last month, Manhattan Community Board 7 is set to vote on a resolution asking DOT for a complete street study of Amsterdam Avenue from 59th Street to 110th Street. 6:30 p.m.
• Wednesday: The City Council’s transportation committee will hold hearings on bills requiring NYPD to provide updates on its hit-and-run investigations twice each year and requiring DOT to update its Street Design Guide every four years. 10:00 a.m.
• Wednesday and Thursday: DOT will present the preliminary design for the reconstruction of Montefiore Park and Plaza at Broadway and 138th Street to Manhattan Community Board 9’s parks and transportation committees. Parks committee: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Transportation committee: 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
• Thursday: Queens Community Board 2 is scheduled to vote on a resolution supporting DOT’s implementation of bike lanes and bike routes in Long Island City and Sunnyside. The routes are part of a plan developed at public meetings hosted by the board. 7:00 p.m.
