There are a lot of community board meetings on the Streetsblog calendar this week where you can lend your support to livable streets projects, including an important one tonight about safety improvements near the Manhattan Side of the Queensboro Bridge. Later this week, there’s also a Democratic mayoral candidate forum in Brooklyn where you can ask the contenders how they plan to make streets safer and transit more effective.

Here are the highlights:

• Monday: At a meeting of the Manhattan Community Board 6 transportation committee, DOT will present plans to improve safety on streets near the Queensboro Bridge. The proposal is expected to fill gaps in the protected bike lane on First Avenue near the bridge, and give Manhattan-bound cyclists a safer connection from the bridge to local streets. 7:00 p.m.
• Tuesday: Improvements to the M60 bus route on 125th Street are in the works, and the Manhattan CB 11 transportation committee will be reviewing the proposal at this meeting. 7:00 p.m.
• Wednesday: The Brooklyn Reform Coalition hosts a mayoral forum where you can ask Christine Quinn, Bill de Blasio, John Liu, and Sal Albanese what they’re going to do to make NYC better for walking, biking, and transit. 6:00 p.m.
• Also Wednesday: The Manhattan CB 8 transpo committee will consider DOT’s proposed safety improvements near the Queensboro Bridge. 6:30 p.m.
• More on Wednesday: DOT is holding a public workshop to gather ideas to upgrade the temporary public plaza on 71st Avenue in Ridgewood, Queens. 6:30 p.m.
• Thursday: Join Manhattan CB 7’s Community Task Force on Pedestrian and Traffic Safety for a discussion of how to improve Upper West Side blocks from 94th Street to 100th Street. 6:30 p.m.
