This Week: Tappan Zee “Community Outreach”

With many unanswered questions still surrounding Governor Andrew Cuomo’s plans to build a transit-free Tappan Zee Bridge, this week the public will ostensibly be allowed to weigh in at two “community outreach” meetings, scheduled in Westchester and Rockland counties. Note that these outreach meetings are happening after the state received bids on the project. Here are the details:

  • Tuesday: Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and City Council President Chuck Lesnick will host a public meeting concerning the new Tappan Zee Bridge. 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: The week’s second Tappan Zee event will be held in Suffern, and will feature Thruway Authority Executive Director Tom Madison and Larry Schwartz, secretary to Governor Cuomo. 7 p.m.
  • Also Thursday: Join Transportation Alternatives, filmmaker Michael Buscemi and City Council Member Brad Lander for the Brooklyn premiere of the short film “B61.” Reception to follow. Space is limited; RSVP required. 7 p.m.

Keep an eye on the calendar for updated listings. Got an event we should know about? Drop us a line.
