Wiki Wednesday: Three Ten Days ‘Til Wikis Take Manhattan
Due to uncertain weather conditions, Wikis Take Manhattan has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 4.
Don’t forget Saturday’s next week’s Wikis Take Manhattan photo scavenger hunt, when shutterbugs will scour the boroughs for shots to contribute to StreetsWiki and Wikipedia photo banks.
Participants may compete in teams of three, with one camera and memory card per team. Prizes will be awarded for the most and best photos.
The grand prize for the winning team will be dinner with Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales at Pure Food & Wine. Other prizes include gift certificates to Bicycle Habitat and a LimeWire Store platinum subscription. We’re told a "special surprise" will be awarded for best photo, as judged by the Camera Club of New York.
The hunt will take place Saturday, September 27 October 4, from 1:00 to 6:30 p.m., rain or shine, and will be followed by prizes and celebration at The Open Planning Project. In case of rain, check www.wikis-take.org for updates.
Participants can begin the hunt from either of two locations: Columbia University (at the sundial on college walk), or The Open Planning Project’s West Village office (349 W. 12th St. #3).
