A bill to make it a felony to cause injury or death while driving without a valid license has passed the State Senate. Assembly Speaker Heastie can get it to Governor Cuomo's desk.
In addition to lifting the cap on cameras, Cuomo and state lawmakers should end arbitrary restrictions on location and hours of operation, which make the cameras less effective than they could be.
