For the second time this year, DOT came to Manhattan Community Board 7 with a redesign of 110th Street that doesn't include protected bike lanes. And for the second time, board members told DOT to go back to the drawing board.
The board's transportation committee declined to support painted lanes for 110th. DOT is expected to bring an upgraded plan back to the committee next month.
DOT plans to put Amsterdam Avenue north of 110th Street on a road diet. But instead of extending the protected bike lane on Upper West Side north into Morningside Heights, the project calls for painted bike lanes.
